What is Sin?
Sin is doing the wrong things, or failure to do the right things according to God’s righteous standard (James 4:17). Sin is also doing the right things with the wrong motives, or having wrongful thoughts (Matthew 5:27-28). Sin is sometimes purposeful but it can happen through an error in judgment. In Romans 7:15-25 the Apostle Paul describes his (and our) struggle with sin and who helps us get victory over it. Sin usually causes us and/or others harm, and it always displeases God. Jesus gives us the victory over sin, and if we confess them with genuine remorse and a change of mind, the Lord will forgive us (1John 1:9).
What is a Type?
